Database integration provides
an interface from a web site into business or company related data.
It can enhance work flow and customer service by providing visitors
to your web site, an access to real-time customer information, account
information, sales history, shipment tracking, and more.
We can integrate your web site with existing sales and inventory databases.
Before embarking on any database project, our in-house experts will
analyze your long and short term project goals and related security
issues.
A properly integrated database application can turn a web site into
a powerful business tool. We develop database-driven
web features for |

Resource catalogs and libraries |
 |
Online product ordering catalogs |
 |
Event scheduling utilities |
 |
Commercial storefronts |
 |
Statistical tools for steering online commerce sites |
 |
WAIS-based text searching engines |

An Internet database can be securely administered through the web
via user authorization and data encryption. |

Databases don't have to be clumsy!
Operationally, the design and integration of access controls can
make or break the success of a database-driven web site. Properly
engineered, your end users find your site pleasing and easy to navigate.
We give each audience access to exactly the information you want
them to see, provide access control granularity down to the individual
end user. So you can provide different levels of access to different
people.
Your staff may need to change prices, adjust discount codes for
your customers. Marketing managers will want to know how many customers
looked at a product and did or didn't buy it. Inventory managers
need the rates at which various stock items are being purchased,
adjust their purchasing schedules accordingly.
Or maybe you'd prefer to give your vendor access to the inventory
levels of his products so he can load his trucks according to your
standing orders. |

Performance
& Scalability Issues |
|
We'll watch out for performance bottlenecks. Database performance
and scalability issues are among the most frequent problems encountered
with pre-existing integrated web database applications. Proper web
database integration design has to consider the performance and scalability
capabilities of the specified hardware, operating system, networking
environment, database software, and anticipated traffic load over
the life of the application.
Performance and scalability parameters, and especially the inherent
limitations, should be understood during the initial design phase.
Over the life of the application, performance and scalability should
be routinely re-evaluated in the context of these known limitations.
This on-going appraisal is especially important where the operational
requirements change, e.g., the traffic load goes up. |
